Gothenburg – A Region at the Forefront
The Gothenburg region is in the midst of a rapid industrial transition, creating an urgent need for new electricity generation. A concrete response to this challenge is the regional collaboration between Eolus Vind and Göteborg Energi in the Västvind offshore wind power project. The project is unique in that it is directly connected to the local grid, with landing and connection to the grid in the Port of Gothenburg – one of the co-owners of Västvind.
What can we learn from regions like Gothenburg to meet the challenges of the industrial transition? How can stakeholders work to secure local electricity production and modernize the electricity grid for future needs?
