As costs for offshore wind have fallen dramatically in recent years and full load hours are increasing with larger turbines, we believe that offshore wind can play a key role in ensuring a reliable and cost-effective Swedish energy system in the future. Experience from other countries shows us that grid development and an expansion of renewable energy can work together to create cost-effective solutions. Today, we can still benefit from existing projects and knowledge, but key prerequisites are clear cost-allocations for grid connections and accountability. What other prerequisites are needed in order to increase competitiveness and allow Swedish offshore wind power to reach its full potential?
