Wind power is already capable of offering a number of stabilising factors for the electricity grid, assistance in the event of lack of inertia mass or down regulation in the event of surplus production. Each type of power has its strengths and limitations. Wind power is less consistent than hydropower, but it does react faster. With a specific configuration and development of the way in which Svenska kraftnät, the Swedish National Grid, is currently procuring consumption flexibility, wind power will be able to both offer and contribute more in the future. This is not only a major help to the electricity system, it will also increase revenue for producers.
