Wind Power and Balancing of Interests

Sweden’s climate transition and the competitiveness of Swedish industry are closely linked to the electrification of society. Wind power has the potential to enable this electrification in the short term, if the right conditions are created, such as local incentives that promote project endorsement, increased local engagement and good energy planning. In this session, we discuss how the mission statements of public authorities often contain different objectives that can compete with climate and energy objectives.

How do we make the necessary trade-offs in the ongoing transition? And what is needed to integrate overarching climate and energy objectives into the work of public authorities in a way that promotes the green transition?
