European Competitiveness in the Light of EU Climate and Energy Policy

This session highlights the challenges and opportunities facing the European wind industry in the green transition and the role of electrification in reaching the 2030 climate targets. We discuss the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive and how the previous European Commission’s wind energy package and the European Wind Charter are being taken forward. Particular emphasis is placed on the value and supply chain – from European suppliers to port capacity – and how to rapidly expand wind power. In addition, the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its impact on the industry is addressed. WindEurope shares its priorities for promoting industry competitiveness and sustainable growth.

The session starts with a prerecorded greeting from Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope.
